Kathmandu, Aug 29: The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has dispatched 40,840 litres of avian turbine fuel (ATF) to Nuwakot-based Nepali Army barrack for its use in the aerial rescue and efforts in the aftermath of the devastating floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli Rivers on August 26. 
The NOC in a press statement on Saturday said that it has been regularly supplying ATF to the NA barrack in Nuwakot since the very first day of the disaster. 
Fuel is refilled in choppers from the barrack. According to the NOC, it supplied 12,000 litres of fuel on August 26, followed by 10,840 litres on August 27. Similarly, it dispatched 9,000 litres on August 28 and 9,000 litres on August 29. 
The NOC through its Thankot-based Bagamati Province Office, supplied 72,000 litres of petrol and 62,000 litres of diesel to petrol pumps based in the disasters-affected districts as of August 29. It also supplied 233 cooking gas cylinders to the shelters in the disaster-hit districts.
